Samporna Sari Beauty & Spa

December 28, 2012

Im all for traditional spas, specifically South East Asian ones like Thai, Balinese, Malay, etc. You won't see me going in slimming centres and such like all those SUPER expensive ones that just want to sell their products, no-oh.

I was browsing Groupon one day and found a head to toe spa package for a cheap price, only RM 64 instead of RM 204 for 2 hours and 15 minutes and location (Kota Damansara)  was the plus point! I didn't hestitate to click the Buy Now button.

Location is the first thing I look for in Groupon. I will only take the ones near TTDI like Bandar Utama, Damansara, Bangsar, Kelana Jaya. haha. What about you? Does location matter to you when purchasing a Groupon? :)

So I booked my session on one fine morning and left 45 minutes prior, though my house is like 10 minutes away because I wasn't sure of the location, not so pro with the KD shoplots. I was looking for their signage "Samporna Sari Beauty & Spa". The spa is located at The Strand, not the Papparich side, it's the Gulati's side. I was going round and round but couldn't find the spa, so I called them for directions. After 15 minutes of looking despite the directions given (boo me), finally found it. It's located next to I-Hotel, behind Kia Motor. You need to take the lift located next to the hotel. I was relieved to see their banners placed near the lift and some posters in the lift :)

The Pamper Package that I bought includes:
  • 45-min crystal saltwater foot soak and scrub, foot mask and massage
  • 60-min full body massage with soothing eye mask
  • 30-min hair and scalp treatment and massage with coconut bath cream and aromatherapy oil
Now let's get into details of my treatment!

*Note that I MAY miss out some details of the treatment because this was done end of October and I can't remember the EXACT details. Spa owner, if I forget to mention some things, Im sorry!! :(

I was greeted by a friendly young lady who told me to get into my treatment room and changed into a robe, and she would be waiting for me at the salon area.

Salon area

1) She started off the treatment by applying coconut oil to my entire scalp. Coconut oil works to reduce scalp itchiness, hair fall, and dandruff problems. I thought this was a good one for me because I do have scalp problem. The therapist did a good job in massaging my head and neck (really needed the neck one!! BLISS!) so that the oil was fully absorbed into my scalp.

Okay as Im writing this right now, I can't remember if the next step was the head steamer or just wrapped my head into a hot towel and proceeded to foot spa... Im sorry, guys. I really can't remember...

Anyway, after hair, I went to the foot spa area where another therapist took over.

Foot Spa & Mani Pedi Area

2) She began by soaking my feet into warm saltwater for about 5 to 10 minutes for detox, to get rid of bacteria, sweat, and dead skin. I like the feeling of soaking feet into warm's like your whole body suddenly feels warm as well.

After foot soak, the therapist scrubbed my feet to slough away dead skin and smooth out rough parts of the feet and massaged it at the same time. Then she washed it off and applied foot mask to complete the ritual of a foot spa. If im not mistaken the mask was green! I felt like Shrek at one point. haha. She left it about 15 minutes, so I took out some magazines while waiting. It was kind of awkward because the spa is pretty much like an open at the foot spa area is located next to the reception and there is no wall between it. While I was reading my magazines, other therapists were chitchatting at the reception.. I just felt awkward because I was alone..I usually go to spas with a friend..

When the mask dried, she washed it off and I was completely amazed by the result. My feet were delicate, fairer, and... clean! I could see that the dark spots that I usually have on my feet are less.

3) Then, I went into my treatment room for a full body massage for an hour. She  massaged my feet and worked her way up. My favourite parts to be massaged are legs, back and head. I feel that hand/arm massage can be painful at times. The massage was alright, the pressure was light because I was on my period..

Treatment rooms

After massaging the whole body, she placed a herbal eye pillow onto my eyes. She left it on for about 10 minutes..I really like this one..the pillow is warm, smells of herbs or tea, really soothing and I feel fresh when I opened my eyes.

4) Lastly, the therapist washed my hair and blew dry it. Coconut oil really made my hair softer :)

Turn Ons:
  • The hair spa using coconut oil was a plus point.
  • Foot mask that worked wonders to my feet
  • Relaxing light massage
Turn Offs:
  • The chit chatting staff at the reception while I was getting my massage done. I was a little bit bothered by that because I could hear every word they said.

My Top 10 Happenings of 2012

December 27, 2012

In a few days, it'll be a new beginning for all of us. 2013 is approaching (boo you, Mayans!) and I still can't process in my head that my little sisters are growing up, and I am.. well getting old? haha

2012 has definitely taught me a lot about love, life, and the real world. I can say that I travelled a lot this year due to graduation, and was fortunate to visit places that I've been dying to see.. I also got my first job this year and it showed me a lot about the perks and dirts of a corporate world and helped me to see what I really wanted to do..

2012 has been a rollercoaster ride for me - and Im proud to have awesome friends and family by my side to go through the days.

As the year coming to an end, I would like to reminisce and share with you my favourite moments of 2012; where I've been or what I've done.

Here we go!

10) Everyday I'm shuffling... LMFAO CONCERT *dance*

THE BEST concert of the year that I went to ! Danced all night and not even a single song that I stopped dancing. The best part? Everybody shuffled when that song came out. I could feel the thumping of the floors and it seemed like it almost cracked. The atmosphere was out of this world!!..Everybody just have a good time..

9) Interviewing celebrities was part of my job!

I was given the opportunity to interview a number of celebrities for my job..namely Mia Sara Nasuha, Fizo Omar, Elfira Loy, and Kaka Azraff.. Thanks to one of the clients for their amazing projects :) This is a photo of me and Mia Sara Nasuha, one of Malaysia's famous child actress after interviewing her for Hari Raya. Adorable :)

8)  Seawalking in Sabah!

Ahhhhhhh! Nothing beats the joy of waking under the sea! I was like an astronaut but instead of walking in space, I was walking in the clear blue waters of Sapi Island. Such an experience. I love the sea!

7) Sunbathing on the gorgeous islands of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand!

Just look at the photo. No editing needed. No awesome camera needed. The island is beautiful as it is!!

6) Pride Festival, London

I was in London in July to visit my friends and of course for holidays. I managed to catch one of the world's most famous events -The Gay Pride Festival which was celebrated everywhere in London. I could never forget seeing cheeky, wild, and sexy costumes worn by men! There are no other days where you see good looking male models strut around London, topless.

5) The FIRST cousin to get married!

My cousin (the guy in purple with the tengkolok on his head) , is the first cousin to get married. After so much pressure of when is the big day and with who, he finally did it! haha. Who's next? The grandmother is hinting..none other and my elder sister. Long way to go, grandma..

4) The FIRST pumpkin to get married!

My best friend, Farhana was the first among us girlfriends to get married! If this is your first time reading my blog, my girlfriends and I we call ourselves pumpkins, since we were 14? And it got stuck till today and perhaps forever! So don't get confused, because Im not talking about a round orange fruit. Last time we would talk about highschool, and now we talk about marriage! OMG. Now Farhana is 3 months pregnant!

3) I went to Scandinavia!

After used to having a number of Finnish neighbours who happened to go to the same college as I was, I couldn't wait to go to Finland because their culture was REALLY different and I wanted to experience it for myself. Despite the quiet Finnish and individualistic culture, I loved their nature more than anything else.

2) I climbed The Great Wall of China!

Errrr..correction. I climbed the starting point of The Great Wall of China. haha. Was not fit enough to go up there. I did climb a few steps and was out of breath. Dad took the family to Beijing in April. Subhanallah, Im still amazed on how they built the wall.

Ready to see what's my number ONE???

I finally graduated from HELP University College!! So happy to see most of my coursemates graduated together too! It is undeniably true that your college years are the best years of your life. I was holding back tears on graduation day. Im proud of what I've achieved thus far! Alhamdulillah :)

There you go! Those are my top 10 unforgettable memories of 2012 :)

Now tell me, what do you wish for this year ? ;)

LFM Charity Bazaar 2012

December 11, 2012

Bazaars. Charity work. Combine the two? You get a happy girl: moi. This is my second time participating in this bazaar organizes by Lung Foundation of Malaysia (LFM). My best friend, Ad, her dad is the chairman of this foundation, and the girls and I volunteer to help out in this fun charity activity!

LFM Charity Bazaar is organized every two years, and 2012 is the second one. This year's bazaar is attended by Chef Ismail who shows a cooking demonstration and sells his delicious treats as well. Not forgetting Malaysia's legendary diva Sharifah Aini, who comes to visit to show her support. Pak Lah and wife are supposed to come, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they can't make it.

We decide to sell pre-loved clothes and books, brand new Punjabi suits directly imported from Bangladesh, and delicious mouth-watering cupcakes, whoopie pies, wraps, and cold drinks to complete the lot. We book two booths, one for the food, and one for the clothes.

Me and Haneesa take care of the clothes booth. Look at the fashion board, 'Wear It Like A Celeb' made by Haneesa! The pictures show the similar items we sell at our booth. Even if it's pre-loved, you can still wear 'em like a celeb!

 Now here comes the neighbour!

Aiysha, one of the best bakers I know, sells her famous cupcakes of Honey Vanilla flavour! I think I buy quite a number of em. It's too delicious, I can't resist. Oh and it is sold out too!! Good job Aiysha!

Farhana sells her signature mixed soda drinks, the Italian Soda! The perfect drinks to quench your thirst in this humid country. The whoopie pies are Aiysha's too; banana flavour. My favourite!

WRAPS!!! Munch on this the whole day at the bazaar. There are creamy mushroom and chicken ball!

Getting pretty busy there!

Tanvir & Ad who sell the yummy wraps, Farhana & Farhan (the newlyweds) sell the Italian Soda.

Eventhough it is raining the whole day, that doesn't stop visitors from coming and enjoying themselves at the bazaar. I feel that previous bazaar was more happening because it didn't rain. But that's alright, definitely looking forward to 2014!

25% of sales are given to the foundation.

If you're planning to open a booth at any bazaar, here's some tips to keep in mind :
  • Bring plastic table covers to cover your food and banners just in case it rains.
  • Bring trolleys to transfer your goods from your car to the booth. That backache can be avoided ;)
  • Always have pen and papers with you to jot down your sales.
  • Bring foldable chairs if you have and if you feel that it's not enough for your party in the booth.
  • Put everything in boxes or a huge plastic bag (like those IKEA blue ones) so you don't have to put them in many small bags. This is easier for you to put on the trolley.
  • Wear light clothing if it's a hot day.
  • Bring umbrellas just in case it rains.
  • Don't forget mosquitoe repellant if your bazaar is surrounded by nature.

Yeap, lessons learnt ;)

Please share your tips here on running a booth, so we can learn from each other.

Synopsis: Bella is enjoying her new life and new powers, after the birth of their daughter, Renesmee. Soon, however, their family bliss is threatened again, by a new menace. As Irina rallies the Volturi to destroy this 'immortal child', Bella and the Cullens - together with any allies they can assemble - are preparing to fight a crucial, ultimate battle, to protect their family. Written by ImLibSkyFe  (taken from

My Comments: I haven't watched Breaking Dawn Part 1 so I had no idea what happened. I was worried if I didn't understand Part 2. But no worries to all who are just like me, you won't get confused or lost if you want to watch Part 2 but haven't watched Part 1. Honestly, Im not a HUGE fan of Twilight and Im not one of those who choose which team I prefer. Maybe because I couldn't accept the fact that vampires sparkle, instead of getting burnt in presence of sunlight. HEH. But I admit, I like watching Twilight Saga because of the actions and storyline is not that bad too. I like fantasy. So yeah. In this final movie of the saga, Bella definitely looks better, better hair and makeup! *Thank you makeup artist, FINALLY*. I wished the producers feature more actions in this final episode, though the war scene was good. And also I love the fact that vampires from around the world gather to battle. I like the nostalgic credit to flashback the casts too! I can say that the movie is fine, but not as awesome as I expected it to be.

Rate: 3.5/5

So peeps, now that Harry Potter is over, Twilight is over..what else can we look forward too? I feel that it's the end of my generation. :(

Posh! Nail Spa @TTDI

November 29, 2012

My nails needed some major treatment. My cuticles were dry and my toenails and cracked heels were just too... uhmm (too embarassed to say! *wink*). This definitely called for a manicure and pedicure session at the nearest nail spa. No need Bangsar, no need One Utama or The Curve though these places are near too, Im thankful to live in an area where awesome nail spas are just around the corner!

I chose to get my treatment at Posh! Nail Spa, in the morning at 11am and on a weekday. Weeehoooo. Why weekday? Because  I quit my job, that's why. We'll story that in another post? :) Anyway, this was my second trip to Posh! because the last time I was here, which was about a year ago, I had a great service and my nails were well done.

I was greeted by a sweet lady who smiled and opened the door for me. AAhhhh..what a great way to start your morning, isn't it? Really people, a smile makes a big difference in someone's day!

I love the entrance! It's like a mini 'maze' that people have to go through to get to the couch!

Now now...I wish my room is like this, a mani pedi couch and sink, nail polish all stacked up! I like the interior of Posh! It's simple but the maroonish-red-super-comfy couch and the mirror and lights on the walls really signify the cozy and relaxed atmosphere.

I want a huge photo of myself like that in my room. Really. Im vain.

All sorts of colours, brands and types! You'll be amazed by their collection! Even the latest ones in town! :)
Enough of observing the place, now let's get started!

I took the Indulgence Combo which was at a promotion price, RM 98 instead of RM128. The manicurist started the service by soaking my feet into warm water as usual and after that she did whatever necessary and later proceeded to do my hands.

The Indulgence Combo includes trim, shape, cuticle care, buff, foot file, exfoliating scrub, soothing lotion, light massage and polish of your choice. The friendly manicurist really did an amazing job because my nails didn't bleed! I guess she knew my nails were really awful and tried to save it, and so she did my nails carefully and gently. Yay! I've been to other nail spas where they did my nails roughly and it bled all the way, and some even almost broke my nails by buffing too hard :( Crazy!

I definitely enjoyed the scrub and light massage for both hands and feet. It was really relaxing and I almost fell asleep! I think she applied stawberry lotion! LOVE IT. YUMMY!

The final step, colouring the nails. Of course, at every mani-pedi session, I had a hard time choosing which colours, but since I was in a cheerful mood, I opted for shiny glittery hot pink!

I totally love the colour! What do you think? I never checked the colour code :( So if you want the exact same colour, just show these pics to them.

Overall, the service at Posh! Nail Spa in TTDI was excellent; friendly boss, Sereen Ng and her wonderful manicurists, gentle and professional service!

Promotion price!

I recommend Posh! Nail Spa to all of you out there and Im definitely coming back!

My Comments: Knowing me who is a sucker for musical romcoms, I absolutely love and enjoy this movie! If you're a musical lover, you'll love this so much more. It's been awhile since I had a good time laughing watching musical films. This particular one is super hilarious and the lines are those which people would remember it in their heads and burst into laughter. To me this isn't a typical musical film because they don't pop out into singing at random times, only during competitions and practice, and that's cool! I totally love the songs' arrangement and since it's acapella, I couldn't help but to just drop my jaws because really, they're THAT GOOD! If you don't know what to watch this weekend, I really recommend to watch Pitch Perfect even if you're not a fan of musical because you WILL laugh, and you WILL sing. Get ready to tap your feet, clap your hands, and hold yourself from dancing in the cinema!

My Mini Collection of PH Purses

November 06, 2012

My birthday countdown: 11 days to go!

Paris Hilton has always been my fashion idol. I really love her style, and she knows how to rock whatever accessories or clothes in the best way!

I've always admired Paris's sense of fashion! Her handbag line is one of my favourite brands, and Malaysia is so lucky to have two stores of Paris Hilton Handbags & Accesories, in Pavilion and One Utama. You can say that I like to pay a visit to the store just to look at the new collections :) The below picture is a mini collection I have from her line.

Those two handbags are still in great condition and I've had it for years! Paris Hilton handbags are affordable, luxurious and of excellent quality! I've been rocking her handbags wherever I go; work, outing with my girlfriends, practically anywhere!  The designs never go out of style and you can rock it to wherever you're going!

I got the purse on my birthday about 2 or 3 years ago, and I've been using it everyday till it got stolen about a few months back! :( I was in a shop where crazy sale was on and by the time I wanted to pay for my items, my wallet was nowhere to be found in my handbag :( It was one of my saddest days because I really love the purse, plus it was a birthday present from my sisters! So ladies and gents, be careful when you're out at the bazaar or in a crowded shop, always be alert of your surroundings. I made a mistake of going crazy over the sale items till I forgot to take care of my handbag. Oh well, lesson learnt. :)

Did you know that Paris Hilton Handbags & Accesories have 40 stores worldwide, and one opening soon in Bangalore, India and that will be number 41! Omg amazing! :) Click here to be in the loop of Paris and her handbags!

A shout out to Paris Hilton and PH Purses team, thanks for spicing up my life and my world of fashion. Eventhough I don't know when will I get to meet Paris and PH Purses team, I feel that by supporting and purchasing these items, it's like meeting Paris and the team already! Thank you for showing me what beauty and style are all about. Thank you for showing me the meaning of confidence and to love myself as I am.

Congratulations on your success and I wish all of you only the best!

Fragonard Perfume, France

October 31, 2012

Hi everyone! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Where are you celebrating tonight? Wherever that you're going for, be safe! I still remember when I stayed in a condo, kids would knock on my door for Trick or Treat. So cute! Now that I live in a neighbourhood that doesn't celebrate it, there's no excitement for me anymore. All these candies I have in my home are for me! haha

Anyway, my lovely Aunty Linda (Do check out her blog for full entries on her luxurious trip) just got back from Monaco a few weeks ago with her family. My family was showered with fragrance galore! One of her stops in her tour was a factory visit which was the Fragonard Perfume Factory. This is France's very own perfume brand. It's not available anywhere else except for France.

I was already in love with the packaging! You can use those as makeup bag as well :)

The miniatures are unisex. It's more suitable for older men and women, as its scent are more elegant and classy. Of course, my parents chose this set! :)

The two individual sets (Mademoiselle Fragonard Riviera & Mademoiselle Amore) are suitable for younger women. Its scent is of fruity and flowers. It reminds me of summertime and garden of flowers :) Of course, I could only choose one, and I took Mademoiselle Amour. It comes with a mirror as well! Now, the bag has become my makeup bag and I've been using the perfume everyday! LOVE LOVE LOVE the scent!! :)

Thank you Aunty Linda and family for the wonderful gifts!

Please click here to know more about Fragonard Perfume. Ladies, be prepared to see such beautiful packaging and sets! :)

The perfect hairstyle for bridesmaids!

October 06, 2012

Hi babes!

Sorry for the SUPER LONG ABSENCE. Just so you know, I started working in June, and have been so very busy, that I didn't have the time to blog. :( But right now I feel like my workload is not as much as before, so here's a post!

I want to share with you my hairstyle for my friend's wedding. I was one of the bridesmaids and I was thinking of doing hairstyle that wasn't too overdone, yet elegant and pretty.

As you can see, yeap it's a green wedding! At one point, we felt like we were fairies in a beautiful land :)

I did my hair at Razor Edge Salon, One Utama. I didn't need to explain much because the stylist knew exactly what she was doing! Kudos to Razor Edge! :)

Look at the details! I didn't know she did a side braid! I thought the stylist just curled my hair and put everything to the right. And when I saw this, I was like AMAGAAADDDDD. SO PRETTY!LOVE IT!!

Thanks Razor Edge Salon for making me looking pretty that night! :)
Felt bad because I didn't get the name of the stylist. But if you're reading this blog, just want to let you know that YOU ROCK! :)

Review: L'erbolario Eye Cream

May 30, 2012

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since the last I did review on beauty products.
I've always had problems with my underye. It's always dry, and when I put on concealer to cover the dark circles and eyebags, it will get flaky at the end of the day. I tried countless of eye treatment products but still no changes. I asked a makeup expert if it's the way I put on concealer that it's not right or what? She said it's my super dry undereyes. Even when she touched my undereye, she said she could feel that it's really dry. So one day, I stumbled upon a cosmetic store from Italy called L'erbolario in One Utama. I was told that this brand has been in Malaysia many years ago but their first outlet is in Bangsar Village and OU is the latest branch.

Consulted with the sales assistant there, and she gave me some eye cream samples to try out for 2 weeks to see if it worked for me. It's amazing how the people here don't try to sell you things, so they give you a few samples to take home :)

Thank you God, my undereyes are better, hydrated, and softer! This eye cream has solved my beauty woes! YAYYYY.

Teach me how to pronounce this. Sounds so exotic ;)

The tube is really small :( It only comes in this size apparently..

All L'erbolario products are in Italian. So if you want to know more, ask the experts there or go online!

Just a small amount is enough to cover your eyes.

L'erbolario Eye Cream is of light base and non-greasy. Works to hydrate, add moisture, tone, reduce wrinkles and eye bags. It contains Camellia (the flower) and Grape seeds.

All L'erbolario products are made from natural stuff, which is suitable for me as my skin doesn't take chemicals too well. I definitely will go back to L'erbolario to try more products. Im a sucker for scented products, so this brand is definitely my kind :) Really..where have I been!

However, this brand is costly..well to me it is. This eye cream is RM120 and it's small, feel bummed out by this but hey, it works for my skin so it's worth the money!

My rate:  4.5/5

For more information on L'erbolario, head over to

I recommend this brand to those who love natural ingredients, scented products, and who don't mind splurging on beauty products like mad!

Beijing Day 3: Jade, Crystal & Pewter Factory/ The Great Wall

May 30, 2012

I've been looking forward to this day for all my life, to see The Great Wall of China, which is one of the 7 Wonders of the world. The Great Wall is further away from Beijing city. About an hour and a half..
But before we started climbing, the tour made a couple of stops to some factories along the way. *Saje nak habiskan our money..haha*

Jade lovers, you may love these because there are tons of jade jewelry and designs to choose from. Expensive, but I was told it brings happiness and good health? Who doesn't want it? Being a girl, I shopped. :)

Making jade!

Jade for Pillow case. Guilty as charged ;)

This is for the face, tegangkan muka anda!

Horses carved using jade. Beautiful and amazing piece of talent and art!
Next, CRYSTALS. I started to feel that this tour was made for women..because come on, jade, crystals, silks.. women love these! Sorry daddy :)

If you're willing to spend extra money on souvenirs, this will be the perfect stop for you!

Gorgeous crystal rings.
Those who are doing wedding preparations, you may want to consider using pewter as bunga telur, that is if you're willing to spend more on it. hehe..I found some pretty pieces that can be used as bunga telur, doorgift and hantaran case at the Pewter factory.

Omg..I would LOVE to have this as my hantaran casing! Gorgeous. But it's so mahal... :(

Thumbs up for this Pewter factory because it has a mosque and a Halal restaurant above the factory. So before we started our climbing adventures, we got our lunch and performed Zohor prayers. Unfortunately, there was some water shortage at the mosque, so kena beratur panjang to perform the ablution. Grrr... this was one of my turn offs of the trip.

About 15 to 20 minutes drive, I could feel the chills running inside of me, the wind got extra strong. It was a good sign that we reached our most desired destination!

Here we are!!! The start of the wall..

Look how steep the stairs are! I was panting already.. My confession, I didn't even manage to finish the first checkpoint. I took this photo when I decided to stop and go down..Couldn't take it. I wasn't fit for this.. :( I was literally shaking in my knees because of the height and the steep stairs, and out of breath too..
Gorgeous view. Look at that..ada orang sampai dekat sana hokayyyy!

This is my certificate ofclimbing the Great Wall eventhough just a few steps. hhehehe.

Tips Day 3
  • Do try to bargain when you shop at the factories. Most of them are crazy mark ups. Know what's worth, and start bargaining :)
  • Make sure you are fit enough if you plan to climb several checkpoints at the wall. Sports shoes or climbing shoes are the best. Flats are dangerous as the steps tend to be a bit slippery.
  • Be careful when taking photos at the steps, the best and safe place to take some shots are at the checkpoints. Do watch your steps! I almost tripped when taking photos at the steps..  :(
